Goenka India Unveils New Store at Mumbai’s Jio World Plaza

Goenka India, the Indian fine jewellery house known for designing, manufacturing and retailing its own creations, has opened its new store at Jio World Plaza, Mumbai. The brand, which also has a presence at DLF Emporio, New Delhi, continues to build on its vision of creating jewellery in India that stands alongside leading global names.

Spanning over 1,000 sq. ft., the new store reflects the brand’s design philosophy, bringing together contemporary aesthetics and Indian heritage through carefully considered architectural details, bespoke artistry and immersive brand storytelling. The space features a warm golden palette, curved glass and antique gold finishes, complemented by a curved facade with a jali in the brand’s signature motif. At the entrance, carved Indian stone featuring a traditional motif introduces the design language that runs through the store.

“Most luxury stores have a minimal facade where the story of the brand gets lost. We wanted the opposite. The moment you enter, you know you are in Goenka India; contemporary in language, but deeply Indian at heart. In the last five years we have opened two stores, a jewellery lounge, two design houses and a new manufacturing facility is coming this year. But for us, growth is not just about new cities; it is about how much finer, how much more technically sound our next piece can be,” adds Nitin Goenka – CEO & Chief Designer at Goenka India.

The store’s interiors continue to reflect the house’s design sensibility. The front wall artwork features beadwork, net, 3D butterflies and stones, representing the front of a piece of jewellery, while the back wall, embroidered in burgundy and gold with small cut gold-glass pieces, represents the jali, the gold structure that holds the gemstones. Both are custom creations, reflecting the brand’s belief that jewellery should be equally beautiful from the front and the back.

The store’s identity is further expressed through its geometric rose logo, a contemporary interpretation of the desi gulab, and a palette of old rose, rust and burgundy inspired by Indian weddings, pujas and festivals. Marble inlay on the handles and floor, a bronze rose carved into marble at the centre, a replica of the house’s first jewellery-making tool and a shloka on good work complete the space. The store was designed in collaboration with PAV Architects and conceptualised by Goenka India to carry forward the design language of its Delhi store.

Goenka India offers a wide range of jewellery, including necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets and bangles designed to come together as coordinated sets. Its earring collection spans everyday styles and studs to jhumkas, chandbalis, cuffs and contemporary casings for solitaires. The offering also includes hair accessories and belts, as well as cufflinks, kurta buttons, kalgis and brooches for men.

The brand’s new Emerald collection is its current statement offering, with each creation conceived as a signature piece. Goenka India’s depth in emeralds and rubies remains a key differentiator. The brand works exclusively with natural gemstones, with no CVD or lab-grown stones, and each creation begins with the stone itself. Its character, cut and presence guide the design process, resulting in distinctive pieces that are individually conceived and not necessarily replicable.

Bespoke jewellery is central to the Goenka India experience. A discussion-cum-display table anchors the store, while two personal dressing ateliers, one in the main store and another in the VIP room- feature three-way mirrors, allowing clients to experience jewellery in a personalised setting. The VIP room offers a private buying experience, with crystal chandeliers and chairs embroidered with birds, parrots and floral motifs.

For pieces that are not on display, an in-house app allows jewellery experts to take clients through the wider collection. Clients can also bring outfit swatches, with the team translating embroidery details and motifs into bespoke signature creations.
