Located opposite Axis Mall in New Town, the property will feature 24 rooms, a 40-cover all-day dining restaurant, two banquet spaces and a rooftop bar-cum-lounge offering panoramic views. With a mix of accommodation, dining and event spaces, the hotel is positioned to cater to corporate travellers, leisure guests as well as the local market.

OPO Hotels & Resorts Expands Across Eastern and North-Eastern India

The entry into West Bengal is part of OPO Hotels & Resorts’ broader expansion across Eastern and North-Eastern India, with upcoming hotels in Guwahati and Itanagar. The company is looking to build a stronger presence across the region’s growing business, leisure and tourism markets, with the Kolkata property marking an important first step in this expansion through management partnerships.

Sandeep Basu on OPO Hotels & Resorts Expansion

Commenting on the expansion, Sandeep Basu, CEO, OPO Hotels & Resorts said, “For OPO Hotels & Resorts, expansion is not about simply adding keys to our portfolio. It is about identifying the right markets, partnering with the right owners and creating properties with a clear commercial and experiential proposition. New Town gives us exactly that opportunity. With its strategic location, strong surrounding hospitality ecosystem and multiple revenue streams, this property is an important milestone in our journey towards building OPO as a strong pan-India hospitality management company.”

New Town-Rajarhat Strengthens the Hospitality Opportunity

New Town-Rajarhat has emerged as one of Kolkata’s prominent business and lifestyle destinations, with a growing mix of corporate offices, retail, entertainment and hospitality. The presence of established hotel brands in the area also reflects the strength of the local hospitality market. For OPO, the location offers an opportunity to build a presence in a commercially active market while operating a property with multiple revenue streams. The hotel’s two banquet spaces and all-day dining restaurant will cater to meetings, celebrations and social events, while the rooftop bar-cum-lounge is designed to attract both hotel guests and local customers.

OPO Hotels & Resorts Strengthens Asset-Light Growth Model

The property also strengthens OPO’s asset-light growth model, under which the company partners with property owners and brings its expertise in hotel operations, sales, revenue management and guest experience.
